On a beautiful summers day at Rhuddlan the home course of our County Captain Wynford Davies, Flintshire completed their final home fixture of the season with a deserved win against Anglesey 8-4.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly fifteen year old Tom Roberts a junior member of Rhuddlan Golf Club who substituted for Adam Wilson in the afternoon due to Adam hurting his forearm in  the morning session, playing off a handicap of 1, Tom Roberts played in the final game of the singles winning 3 and 1.

The morning session of foursomes golf was won by Flintshire 3-1, the same score achieved in the away fixture earlier on in the season, and perhaps mindful that in the away fixture this score was not enough for us to win the match overall the Flintshire squad concentrated excellently to the task in hand and won the singles 5-3 to win the match overall 8-4.

The final game of the season is at Bangor St. Deniols against Caernarfonshire on the 23rd of August, follwed by the Inter-Counties Championship at Borth on the 20th of the September.

Over fifty golfers from the County played the scratch to twelve at Holywell Golf Club last Thursday evening.

After a review of the under eighteens result it means that we have a winner of the under eighteen order of merit Liam Peters of Flint pipping Jacob Davies of Mold by one point, my apologies for the incorrect announcement which was due to my inability to add up correctly.

Now that the individual fixtures for the juniors have been completed the only Junior Competitions now left are the Junior Club Championships and the qualifying competition for Builth Wells, the final placings in all categories have been calculated, congratulations to Jacob Davies Mold and Ross Peters of Flint for sharing top spot in the under eighteen section, Jack Smith of Mold for winning the under fifteen and Harry Griffiths also from Mold for winning the under thirteen section. All the scores down to tenth place are shown in the Junior Section tab.
